Medellín Doesn't Need Your Hype.. It’s Already That Good

Eternal spring, great coffee, and a city that keeps surprising you!

People always act shocked when I say Medellín is one of my favourite cities on earth. I get it, reputation and all that. But that city has done more reinvention in the last 20 years than most places do in a century and it shows. They call it the ""city of eternal spring"" and yeah, that's not marketing fluff. The weather is genuinely just... nice. Every day. Warm enough, not too hot, light breeze. It's borderline unfair. The food scene in El Poblado and Laureles is solid but honestly I preferred eating at the local spots around Parque Aranjuez where the menu del día runs you like $3 USD and you get soup, a main, juice, and dessert. That's just Tuesday for people who live there. Took the metro cable up to Santo Domingo on my second visit and sat there for a long time just looking out over the city thinking about how much it's changed. It's one of those rare places where you can feel the momentum, like something is actively being built. Not a place for people who want things handed to them. But if you're comfortable figuring stuff out as you go, you'll love it.
